Start Gardening with the Erysimum

When starting out as a beginner in gardening, the best plant to start with would be the Erysimum bicolour or commonly known as the Bowles Mauve or even the Bowles perennial wallflower. These names are more difficult than the plant itself. The plant is a small shrub which has beautiful flowers. The plant needs to be removed after it flowers as it is having a short lifespan.

These flowers bloom in spring so it is best to sow seeds of the Erysimum in May. Once the plant grows, they can be shifted to their destination place in Fall. Until then they are fully grown and will bear the beautiful flowers in spring.
