If the drawer base is very badly damaged it will have to be replaced. Use either plywood or a wooden panel for this, depending on the original material used. The size of the panel will be the same as the inside of the drawer plus an allowance for the side and front slots.
The panel should be a fraction under the thickness of the slots which is usually about 6mm. Plywood of the correct thickness can be bought from DIY stores. A solid wooden panel can be bought from a joinery shop where they will cut it to size for you. The grain of the solid wooden panel should run from side to side.
